I finally achieved nearly normal sleep and wake times. Rained a bit today. My motivation is found at x) the room cost and y) the duration of this trip. One can graph this. The Y axis is unknown however, so your graph may extend off the screen. If the room cost any less I'd be in Bangladesh, where I dont want to be.
My sole task was to buy stamps for postcards. Look at the queue outside,
ugh. What was funnier were the customer packages inside awaiting shipment. Ha! My packing tape family - I have come home to you at last. Absolutely brilliant.
Walked around a bit, came back, being lazy. Plotted some places I'd like to see. Heading to Princess Island tomorrow. Tolstoy's house in a state of ruin and a massive former orphanage that has the distinction of being the largest purely wooden structure in [unknown. The planet. I skipped that part].
One takes a ferry to get to the Asia side, then about an 11km bike ride to another ferry to the island. Ferries are the budget Bosphorus tour at less than $2 each way. (Reminds me - I totally beefed my post the other night when I reported having walked to Asia. No. I walked across the Galata bridge to a different part of Istanbul is all. Remind me to edit that).
Pics of interesting stuff. Like a very fierce man, the AlPacino baklava, Turkish elves on a shelf dressed as children, and some beaded accoutrement for your motor scooter.
