The wifi speed here (Hotel Balca, Izmir, TK) is so fast I'm thrilled to upload anything I can to blog and Drive to clear out these phones.
Prisons are always on my list of things to see. Prisons and paintings. They round out the spectrum of what a society was by how it was viewed, what was unacceptable, and how the least privileged of its members were treated.
Administrators of any society are tasked to find the comfort spot in between personal liberty and social control. Too much of the former is anarchy; too much of the latter is authoritarian dictatorship. Utpia is said to be a swath of land in between the two. Once that area is identified, they must then devise a strategy to keep all the little hamsters in that area and cordone off the rest.
Before photography, before the printing press, there was paint. I like to think that someone aimed to communicate with future beings. Showed what their world was like. The closure of museums is my greatest heartbreak from covid. I'm too lazy to interpret sculpture. Though I'm learning. I have to.
