Backtrack: Sept 1. Belfast, NI. Journey to a Lighthouse.

I have to dump cargo off this phone storage. I took over a hundred pictures on this ride. It was so cool. My goal was to stop at Carrick castle then head further up to White-something Lighthouse. I thought it would be some old or currently in use lighthouse where I could step out onto a land's end, breathe in the finish line, turn and head back. No way! It turned out to involve a marvelous trek where I had to leave Loretta parked at some point to continue solo through a maze of steps, cave tunnels, rock trails, etch (how my Irish friend says and writes "etc").

Along the way I saw neat things, uncategorised.

Heading back I stopped at a mini park to ride the Ferris wheel.

I'd take Northern Ireland over Turkey any day for rides. The road and air quality here blow. The drivers....ach. Still, I'm here. It's a country that fits my wallet at the moment.

15 pics are uploaded. This thing takes forever. I'll upload the other hundred on the bus to Izmir tomorrow. Yes, bus. Izmir is 75 miles from here. On a fully loaded bike on these hills I can do 40 miles a day max. Tomorrow is a dry day then a week of rain. I'm keen to get to warmer temps. Koru is pretty but freezing at night. After three days in Izmir I'm bussing to Antalya.

A painting in the cafe I stopped into. It was glittery.

So was this one.

Somewhere on the coast route between Belfast and the lighthouse. It'll come to me. These cool houses.

I stopped at a kebab place to fulfill a promise to a U.S. kebab-loving friend. I asked for just kebab no bread. I thought it would be skewers of meat and veggies. Think I paid roughly four bucks for a pound of meat. It was wrapped in a while roll of butcher paper. Tasty but most if it fed the local wildlife. Favor to my colon.

Ferris wheel. Pics are out of order but on this phone its the best I am willing to do. My Izmir hotel has lightning fast wifi. A hundred pics uploaded in five minutes.

Look at tiny Loretta waiting for me!

The coast. I love the geologicals.

The pathway to the lighthouse. Heres where I could no longer reasonably take Loretta.

Old man for scale-
